Routes

Taygetos has many routes that lead to the peaks, as well as old paths, ideal for climbers and hikers, starting from the villages in the plains and reaching the most remote mountain villages. Those who wish can follow the European path E4 or any other path from the east side of Taygetos.

The main hiking and mountaineering routes are:

1. Mystras – Taygeti – Sela – Perganteika – Monastery of Faneromeni
2. Mystras – Monastery of Faneromeni – Anavriti
3. Anavriti – Lakkomata – EOS refuge
4. Taygetos Refuge – Monastery of Our Lady Giatrissa – Kastania
5. Kalivia Sohas- Soha – Lakkomata- Tsarkos
6. Koumousta – Gola Monastery
7. Koumousta – Pentavli –  EOS refuge
8. Magganiaris Springs – EOS refuge – Pr. Ilias Peak
9. Dimitrios – Pr. Ilias Peak
10. EOS refuge – Pentavli – Ag. Dimitrios
11. EOS refuge – Pr. Ilias Peak – Our Lady Kapsodematousa – Ridomou Canyon
12. Pentadaktylos ridge crossing
13. Touristic – Ag. Marina – Neraidovouna – Taygeti – Mystras
14. Siliboves – Xerovouna – Twin Peaks – Longastra
