For history lovers, a tour of the nearby archaeological site of Mystras and the charm of the Byzantine castle, a visit to ancient Sparta, the Archaeological Museum and the modern Museum of the Olive and Greek Olive Oil, will offer you unique experiences.
The settlement also constitutes the starting point of international hiking trails, which attracts a large number of alternative tourism visitors every year. But also ordinary walkers will discover one of the many routes offered in the verdant vegetation and the cool springs, crossing the outskirts of Taygetos, a mountain full of legends and lore.
Also, at a distance of 15 km, you will find Lagada Climbing Park and the international airport of Kalamata is only 60 km away.
Visitors will quickly discover that the village offers a variety of options for a pleasant stay. Just a few meters from our guesthouse, there are taverns with Greek traditional cuisine, a restaurant and a cafe-bistro.
The area, included in the Natura 2000 habitat network, also belongs to the most important sites in Greece for birds (Important Bird Areas). The rare animal and plant species in the ecosystems observed in central Taygetos are of great interest worldwide.
In the middle mountainous zone of Taygetos we will encounter beautiful forests that will enchant every visitor, while in the lower parts, bushes and aromatic shrubs, ravines with perennial plane trees, gorges and canyons which supply water to the Evrotas River.
